Justice IssuesPresentation Sisters work for justice worldwide, speaking for those marginalized and preserving human dignity. Through justice ministry, Presentation Sisters seek to change the systems and lifestyles which contribute to the extremes of wealth and poverty and degradation of the earth. Presentation Sisters worldwide were called at the 2007 International Presentation Association (IPA) Assembly to: address the root causes of poverty, especially by confronting personal and corporate greed which exploit Earth, her people and the whole community of life.”
(IPA Assembly Bangalore, 2007) The 2007 IPA Assembly invited JUSTICE CONTACTS to: develop strategies to integrate the vision and directions for mission of IPA into the life and mission of their groups.
Using a process of “Cutting the Issue,” the following two foci were determined for action by Presentation Sisters world-wide:
1. Exploitation of natural resources by large corporations in a way that damages Earth, those made poor (especially women, children and Indigenous peoples) and local cultures.
2. Exploitation of primary producers (food, agricultural, fishing, unethical free trade) leading to global crises such as the global food crisis.
